Pavanu Surveys our pedestrian built environment
Pavanu Mobility, has developed a service that surveys footpaths and pedestrian areas. The data and report generated can then be used by civic authorities to rebuild and repair pedestrian areas to ensure accessibility and safety for everybody, regardless of age, ability or circumstances.
Our objective is to disrupt the way pedestrian areas are built, repaired and maintained. Pavanu’s hardware is packaged in the PASIV (wheelchair robot) and can be used to measure obstacles in pedestrian areas that are potentially dangerous for trips and falls. This is complemented by a cloud-based that manages the data and generates reports for our customers. Over €160 billion was paid out in compensation for trip and fall hazards last year worldwide.
Around €3 billion is spent around the world every year on repairs, maintenance, design and building of pavements in pedestrian areas. Yet accessibility remains a major problem and litigation an is an ongoing process of lengthy litigations and due to continual trip and fall injuries.
Our services can detect and analyse these problems way before the actual injuries occur or after a trip/fall happens. By using Pavanu’s data, and knowing the areas that are potentially dangerous, our customers can save hundreds of thousands in lawsuits.

The population of the world is getting older every year. Current generations live longer, and over 15% of the world’s population has a disability. Pavanu’s vision is to ensure that pedestrian areas in the built environment everywhere are accessible and safe for everyone regardless age, ability, and circumstances.
Pavanu has developed a device is called the Pedestrian Area Survey Inspection Vehicle (PASIV). This device uses a complex integration of sensors to reference to the location and establish the seriousness of the problem. This is complemented by a cloud-based platform, that manages the data and filters it to extract the necessary customer appropriate information.
For Pavanu, It is not enough to create the technology that works well. We also have to create awareness about problems with the built environment, that have been overlooked and ignored for too long.
